Local accommodation and transportation..............
| At the Kispiox Steehead Camp we stay in a log cabin. The small 2-person cabins fulfill most requirements. They are not luxury but who needs luxury over there? In each cabin there are 2 beds, an iron stove that can be filled with wood logs, there is electricity and a refrigerator. There is enough space for our clothes and tackle gear. We can cook electrically or on the iron stove. There is a showerhouse for general use with toilets and showers with hot water. In Terrace or Houston we stay in a local motel. These motels also fulfill our requirements and there are enough possibilities to have a meal over there. |

| The new 6-persons cabins have more comfort like an own toilet and shower, kitchen and three 2-person bedrooms. Supplies are bought locally and we will fix our own meals. Sleeping bags are present and everybody will receive upon arrival a set of towels. There is a phone at the Kispiox Steelhead Camp, so everybody can call their home front, but keep in mind that there is a time difference of 9 hours with most European countries! In the basement of the 6-person cabin is enough space to dry the wading suits and other wet clothes and store all our rods. I also store my pontoons over there. The camp has a smokehouse so it is possible to have your fresh salmon smoked. |

| We use a 4x4 SUV and/or 4x4 pick-up truck for transport to the rivers. We share one truck with a maximum of 4 persons. Costs for fuel are split with the rest of the group, but in Canada gas costs not even half of the price as what we are used to here in Europe. Pick-ups and SUV's are not cheap and there is always a personal insurance risk of C$ 500. We have 1400 free kilometers per vehicle and normally that is sufficient. When we have to pay for additional kilometers, we will each pay an even share. It is a thrill to drive a SUV or pick-up through the woods and most of the time we succeed to drive the truck close to the river banks. |

In the Kispiox Steelhead Camp is
also a canoe available that can be used by 2 or 3 people. Sometimes it is
necessarry to cross the river when the waterlevel is to high. I have 2
Waterskeeter pontoons over there, and they can be used for our raft-trips downstreams. A raft-trip is
really sensational, we can come at places that are inaccessible for other
anglers and when we are lucky we can see otters play or beavers near their
dam. |
